This just in...for those of you in and around London:

Apparently Heavenly records are holding a festival featuring all their old artists- does anyone know the line-up?

I've copied this from an email but that's all I know:

FOREVER HEAVENLY
Friday 12 - 14 September 2008

A weekend festival celebrating 18 years in the life of the Heavenly Recordings label. ounded in 1990, Heavenly has been home to artists from Saint Etienne and Manic Street Preachers through to Beth Orton, Doves, The Magic Numbers and Edwyn Collins. Now upon reaching some kind of adulthood, the Heavenly label has decided it's time to have a party.

For three nights, they take over Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Purcell Room, bringing back the great and good from the label's entire history, and putting on the best urban festival line-up of the summer. Expect stadium-sized special guests alongside acoustic troubadours, the odd Sunday Social stalwart and those who are just Forever Heavenly.

Also, Beth got dropped from Heavenly, and I think she experienced some trauma afterwards because of it. So, I'd be surprised...

Ooh wish I lived in London for this one!!! I can't believe I actually got a Beth e-mail update

Beth Orton returns to the London stage for a very special one-off show in September. As part of the Forever Heavenly festival celebrating 18 years of the Heavenly Recordings label, Beth will be playing her classic debut album "Trailer Park" in its entirety for the first time ever. The album is due for re-release in September with a bonus disc of unheard material and outtakes. This gig is in the intimate environs of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, alongside The Magic Numbers.

We're expecting tickets to go very fast on this - as you are on the Beth Orton mailing list, we're giving you an early heads up. Don't hang around though!

Tickets cost £20 from www.southbankcentre.co.uk or by phone on 0871 663 2500. Tickets are onsale now to Southbank Members. If you are not a Southbank Member, please quote the password Heavenly when buying tickets. Tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow.

No end and no beginning, an endless sky
An endless day

I just rceived the same email message. Too bad it is halfway around the world for me.
I sincerely hope that Heavenly records gets it right and makes this one of a kind concert into the DVD we've all been hoping for. What with Beth performing all the tracks on Trailer Park, this is the one.
C'mon, Heavenly, do it. And thank you Beth for the heads up.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

hmm answered my own question

* 1. Safety
* 2. It's Not The Spotlight
* 3. Galaxy Of Emptiness [live]
* 4. Pedestal
* 5. Touch Me With Your Love [instrumental]
* 6. It's This I Am Find
* 7. Bullet
* 8. Best Bit [early version]
* 9. Best Bit
* 10. Skimming Stone
* 11. Dolphins - Beth Orton & Terry Callier
* 12. Lean On Me - Beth Orton & Terry Callier
* 13. I Love How You Love Me

just b-sides then, unless hmv is just asuming, but this is hardly unheard and outtakes so fingers crossed they got it wrong

Here's something from Lovers Unite, which is a mailing list for Saint Etienne -- the "we'll" means that Saint Etienne will be performing:

"Then on September 14th we'll be playing at the Queen
Elizabeth Hall on the South Bank as part of the
FOREVER HEAVENLY weekend. Supporting us are our dear
mate Dot Allison, playing her Afterglow album in full,
and The Little Ones."

The email from Lovers Unite gives the same instructions/password for buying tickets.
